The series of 3 flip flop paintings were created following a February visit to Fowey, Cornwall and a new purchase of some splendid pink flip flops. They seemed the perfect pair of shoes for this fabulous town. The collages are made up of Cornish tide tables and silver hallmarks plus the dictionary definitions of pink, fuchsia and of course flip and flop! Ferry tickets from Bodinnick to Fowey and fragments of a map showing the Fowey estuary are also included. Chinese stamps and text reference the place the flip flops were made and the pink candy stripe paper is a bag from Fowey's own sweet shop.
